First post, lesson learned.
Allright so im not big into this blogging stuff but i figure i would give it a shot because i learned a seriously lesson the other day when the market rallied 900 points mid-day.
I had made a trade on EEV on the breakout and was confident that the market would continue to fall (which it consequently did over the next few days and i would have made some great cash on this trade). Unfortunately i had to attend a meeting and was away from my computer, instead of setting a trailing stop on a trade i was already up 1000$ on i got cocky figured i would let it run and come back in the afternoon.
So i logged onto my computer and came back to my biggest loss to date, my account had gone from being up 120% to 100% in a matter of hours (the way covestor does data doesnt show my realized gain properly, i do use leverage). I managed to recover half of that the next day and then made a small trade where i gained another 200 but i took the rest of the week off to think about it and mentally kick myself.
So thats my story... SET YOUR GOD DAMN STOPS or get screwed in markets like this. I'm back this week with a vengeance and planning on making some smaller precise trades to get my toes wet again, guess i cant do much complaining when i'm still up 100% in only a couple months.
PS hoping they change the way covestor does data, feeling a little ripped off when my covestor gains topped out at 90% while my true gains reach ~120% , it seems to get leverage really messed up, my losses end up showing up as a lot more than they really are.
