I stand by my investment in CROX. I just bought into this last plunge (dip doesn't cut it). Am I slipping on this non-slip shoe company? Perhaps. Time will tell... I have a buy and hold philosophy and I will hold this one until it reaches zero, if that is its destiny. I am wearing my Crocs 'til the boat sinks. I own a pair and I even use them indoors while I'm home!

Sellers have killed it, shorts have milked it. People just love to hate this stock. They compare it to Heelys, Uggs, etc... People talk about their lack of visual appeal (ugliness), "wearing tires on your feet" (is that a bad thing?), low moat, bad management...

Look. It's very likely we won't see Crocs doing well in a while, although I do suspect their recently lowered guidance is a doomsday scenario. However, I invite anyone who hates Crocs to swing by their website for a few minutes. Something fly-by-night imitators will never be able to do is innovate. These guys at Boulder are good at it! They will always be able to leave $5 imitators stuck in the mud... and this only applies to their clogs (yes, they have several shoe models). It is evident they've moved beyond a one-shoe business plan which would've been a remake of the HLYS story.

If Crocs did turn out to be another fad, the company would still remain. They have several lines of products. They have a line of clothing that can gnash its teeth at any other one out there. They have a good deal of cash to weather tough times too. Some speculate they will loose pending litigation against Holeys for copyright infringement. However, I believe they are able to re-design the clog or even drop it and come up with something completely new. In the long run, this company in a no-brainer at sub book value. The upside far outweighs the downside.
