The strategy is pretty simple: buy, dump, and run. Primary technical-based trading by studying chart patterns, resistance/support levels, and technical indicators (volume, MACD, moving avgs). During the quarterly earnings seasons, I do trade certain companies if they are strongly expected to show an upside surprise to capitalize on the post-earnings spike. I rarely hold a stock for more than a few days. From my experience, the longer you hold a stock, the more due diligence that is required to understand and predict company-related news. My family started investing money, but got off to a rough start. Amazed how someone on the market ends up a winner whether the market is up or down, I started following the stock market news and eventually started trading with small amount of cash.
