I am a newbie investor and have been following ibankcoin blog for the last half year and it is awesome it cuts thru alot of the BS that is out there. Since I am a new investor would you be able to recomend and books or resources that would be able to help me? Since I am new I get lost in some of the technical and fundamental analysis on the blogs. I find most of the books that I am coming across don't have alot of substance and they send you to the authors website to pay more money for the real investing knowledge which is pricey. I just looking for resouces that I can build a solid foundation on as suppose to getting dubbed by an author who only makes his money on his books. Thanks, ibankcoin rocks :-) Close

I understand that leveraged etf's get hit with compounding, which cause them to go down in value over time. Is this what you are trying to avoid?

it's early in the learning curve for me - i've tried a number of brokers(muriel siebert, etrade, tdameritrade, optionsxpress) looking for a base. i've stayed away from tradestation because i didn't want to spend more time coding (and enjoying it) than learning trading disciplines. but all the above have limitations.
can i ask? what platform do you use? how about for a trader log?
i have a full time job, so my intent is not full time trading, but rather developing a simple mechanical trading system. i do have the ability to receive and respond to alerts if i need to pre-empt the trading system. so basically i am hoping to use a system to put me in/out of a few positions on a daily basis, with pre-empt capability at times of really hi volatility.
does that mean tradestation is the way to go? or whatever it is that you use?

I've been doing some research on it's utility for individual stocks as well. Do you use a screener to find those stocks that have closed with an RSI(2) below 10, or do you have a watchlist that you just monitor for EOD data to catch the trigger? Thanks man.
